Working Principle Of Linear Roller Guide

Jul 10, 2025

Linear roller guide is a high-precision, high-load linear motion guide component, widely used in automation equipment, precision machine tools, robots and other fields. The principle is to use rollers to roll between the guide rail and the slider to achieve linear motion of the slider relative to the guide rail. The following is the specific working process of the linear roller guide:

1. When the slider is subjected to external force, the roller rolls between the raceway of the guide rail and the raceway of the slider. There is a line contact between the roller and the raceway. This contact method increases the contact area, thereby improving the bearing capacity of the guide rail.

2. Due to the rolling of the roller, the friction force is greatly reduced, allowing the slider to move easily and smoothly on the guide rail, achieving high-precision linear motion.

3. The raceway of the guide rail and the raceway of the slider are both precision ground to form a strictly parallel linear track. The roller is restricted to roll in the raceway and cannot deviate from the preset track, thereby forcing the slider to move only along the axis of the guide rail to achieve linear guidance and avoid deviation or shaking.

4. The end cover plays a role of sealing and dust prevention, preventing dust and debris from entering the guide rail, affecting the rolling of the roller and the service life of the guide rail.
